A dishing drum press forms concave end closures for pressure vessels and storage tanks. A vertical ram drives an upper tool against a circular plate on a lower die. A manipulator moves, rotates, and tilts the workpiece during forming. Pressing occurs through multiple sequential hits across the plate surface, gradually shaping the concave form.
The frame uses welded steel construction with guide columns for ram alignment. Hydraulic systems supply pressing force, with capacities from 5 MN to over 50 MN. PLC controls manage stroke programming and manipulator coordination. Thickness range: 10mm to 80mm. Diameters: 0.5m to 8m. Configurations: elliptical, torispherical, conical, and spherical.
